Our missions

Corsica’s third-largest port for freight transit

The 4 key tasks

The Corsican EPCI carries out its core tasks of managing, operating, investing in and promoting the commercial port in order to meet safety, security and operational requirements.

Manage

The Corsican EPCI manages the concession for the commercial port of Porto-Vecchio
The concessionaire is responsible for managing public land within the concession area. Its responsibilities are as follows: the construction, maintenance, renewal, operation, development and promotion of the structures, land, buildings, facilities, equipment, networks and services necessary for the port’s operation.

Welcome

The Corsican Public Agency for Trade and Industry is constantly working to improve facilities for passengers and vehicles. To this end, it organises the management of traffic flows for both vehicles and pedestrians. To this end, it is putting in place services, infrastructure and facilities such as: ferry terminals, car parks, a free shuttle bus, an information point, and variable message signs for signage, amongst other things.

To encourage

To promote the growth of traffic by meeting the expectations of all operators, particularly shipping lines. To this end, it carries out promotional and communication activities in partnership with all shipping lines, stakeholders in the port community, and professionals in the transport and island tourism sectors. With an advantageous geographical location, notably due to its proximity to the Italian ports of the Gulf of Genoa and Sardinia, the island’s six commercial ports are served by five regular ferry operators and 12 routes to France and Italy, handling over 4 million passengers and 3.7 million tonnes of freight each year.

Preparing for the future

By drawing up investment programmes based on forecasts of passenger numbers and fleet development. By proposing new developments in the short term. By focusing on areas for development: new routes, new passenger services, cruises, etc.
